Today's prompt from Robert Lee Brewer: Write a "memory" poem. Rather than write about a specific memory, I offer a metaphorical observation:
Memories
are
sliced bread
in the toaster
they
brown awhile
then pop up
we
savor them
with some seasoning
while
tiny pieces
are left in
the crumb tray
then thrown away
sliced bread
in the toaster
brown awhile
then pop up
savor them
with some seasoning
tiny pieces
are left in
then thrown away
